ACC launches Mexico Chapter to empower corporate lawyers in the country
The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC), the leading global legal association representing more than 48,000 corporate lawyers worldwide, has announced the launch of the ACC Mexico chapter. This new community aims to support in-house legal professionals across Mexico by offering opportunities to develop legal and leadership skills, build professional networks, and collaborate through virtual and in-person events.
“We are thrilled to welcome ACC Mexico to the global ACC community,” said Veta T. Richardson (pictured), ACC President and CEO. “In-house counsel in Mexico faces complex challenges, including navigating judicial reforms, corporate governance, cybersecurity, and labor laws. Through this chapter, we aim to foster a strong community where corporate lawyers can connect locally and globally, reinforcing their role as key strategists within their companies,” Richardson added.
Veta also extended her gratitude to Rudy Rivera, Elena Robles, and Margarita Múnera for their exceptional leadership in establishing this chapter.
Elena Robles, General Counsel and Governmental Affairs Director at Estafeta Mexicana, has taken on the role of president of ACC Mexico. Under her leadership, the chapter will offer tailored educational and collaborative experiences for corporate lawyers nationwide.
Initial in-person events will focus on major cities such as Mexico City, Ciudad Juárez, and Monterrey, complemented by virtual programs designed to reach a broader audience.
“As president of ACC Mexico, I am committed to creating a safe and dedicated space for in-house counsel to address their specific challenges together,” said Robles.
“Our goal is to foster an environment where members can share experiences, establish professional connections, and learn from one another while focusing on the unique needs of corporate lawyers in Mexico,” added Robles.
