Accenture retained BLP on global acquisition of Search Technologies

BLP acted for Accenture, the global professional services company, on the Costa Rican aspects of its purchase of Search Technologies. 

Search Technologies is a Virginia-based technology services firm which focuses on the design, implementation and management of big data and search analytics.

The transaction added nearly 200 big data engineers and search experts in the United States, Costa Rica, Europe and the Philippines to Accenture. As part of the deal, a new delivery centre will be established in Costa Rica, specializing in customer and content analytics.

Financial terms of the operation were not disclosed. 

Partners Luis Castro and Eduardo Calderón led the BLP team which provided legal and tax advice to Accenture in Costa Rica.
