AGM Abogados launches its first office in Mexico City
Spanish law firm AGM Abogados has taken a significant step in its international growth by opening its first office in Latin America. Located in Mexico City, the new branch will serve as the firm’s Latam Desk hub, reinforcing its mission to build stronger legal and business ties between Europe and the region.
With nearly 40 years of legal expertise, AGM Abogados continues to expand beyond its home base in Spain, where it operates offices in Barcelona and Madrid. The firm also runs several international desks—including the French and Asian Desks—and is an active member of SCG Legal, a prestigious network of over 120 independent law firms worldwide.
The Mexico office is designed to facilitate cross-border operations, offering legal support to Latin American clients interested in doing business in Spain and across Europe, as well as assisting Spanish companies expanding into Latin American markets. Rather than positioning itself as a competitor to local firms, AGM aims to collaborate and create synergies with legal professionals in the region.
The move aligns with AGM’s broader strategy to offer hands-on, localized support while maintaining a global legal perspective. The office will operate within the same time zone as its Latin American clients, providing tailored, multidisciplinary assistance across key sectors such as real estate, energy, infrastructure, and technology.
The new office is led by Julio Menchaca Vite (pictured), a dual-qualified Mexican-Spanish lawyer with deep experience in mergers, acquisitions, and international business law. His role will be central to supporting clients navigating the legal complexities of cross-border expansion, particularly from Latin America into Spain.
He has played a key role in assisting Latin American companies with their expansion into Spain, making him an ideal leader for this strategic initiative. AGM Abogados sees this development as a natural evolution in its international services and a response to the growing demand for legal expertise in transatlantic business operations.
