Alves, Castro e Dantas Advogados has a new partner: João Cavalcanti (pictured), after 13 years as a member of the Mattos Filho Advogados team, is taking on a new chapter in his professional career: leading, as a nominal partner, the newly created Corporate Law and M&A area of the a Goiás law firm with two decades of history and a benchmark in tax litigation and advisory services.
The new practice covers M&A transactions, corporate reorganizations, corporate governance and estate planning.
With almost 20 years’ experience in Brazil and abroad, João has dual qualifications as a lawyer in Brazil and Spain, and worked in the European country between 2007 and 2012, including as an associate at Roca Junyent in Barcelona for two years.
In Brazil, he has advised on highly complex transactions involving private equity funds, listed companies and companies from multiple sectors.
The new corporate area is already up and running and, in the coming weeks, the firm will be updating its brand and institutional channels to reflect this new phase, in line with the expansion of its corporate practice.
