Antofagasta instructs PPU on Centinela sale
Philippi, Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría advised Antofagasta on the $117 million sale of Centinela Transmisión to Red Eléctrica Chile, which instructed Aninat Schwencke.
Antofagasta is one of the largest copper producers in the world. It is headquartered in Chile and listed in the London Stock Exchange.
It owns and operates four copper mines mainly located in the Antofagasta region of Chile (pictured): Los Pelambres, Centinela, Antucoya and Zaldivar
With this deal, the company is selling its electricity transmission business Centinela Transmisión as part of its strategy to dispose of non-core assets.
Red Eléctrica Chile, the buyer, is the Chilean subsidiary of Spanish utility Red Eléctrica Internacional.
Partners Carlos Alberto Reyes and Guillermo Infante led the PPU team advising Antofagasta.
