ARAQUEREYNA appoints Juan José Figueroa as partner
Venezuelan law firm ARAQUEREYNA, has announced the incorporation of Juan José Figueroa (pictured) as a new partner of the firm.
“Despite Venezuela’s problems, the world is always watching us. In that sense, I believe that my incorporation is timely because we see the reactivation of the Venezuelan economy, which is very dynamic. Many business and job opportunities are arising and we are prepared to face them,” Juan José commented on his decision to join the firm.
A lawyer from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, he holds a Master’s degree in Corporate Tax Management, Finance and Taxation from the Universidad Metropolitana. He has 25 years of experience in civil, commercial, real estate and family business law, as well as in business and contract structuring. Prior to joining the firm, he was a partner at Pittier Almándoz y Elíaz, at Zuloaga, and at Mata Borjas Priwin & Ferreras.
He focuses his practice on assisting clients in M&A and spin-offs of commercial companies, as well as assisting institutions in the education sector. He has participated in the resolution of conflicts through judicial proceedings and through the use of alternative methods, as well as in the design of corporate agreements and alliances for the development of large road infrastructure works and industrial plants in different parts of the country. He has assisted major foreign investors in company acquisitions and has handled several negotiation processes in the context of inheritance or business deals between private individuals. In addition, he has advised educational institutes.
