Arias instructed on Central American sale of Suzuki dealership
Arias lawyers in Costa Rica, El Salvador and Panama advised Grupo Rudelman, a regional car retailer, on its sale to Inchcape plc, a UK-based dealership. The buyer instructed EY in Central America.
Inchcape is a multinational automotive distribution, retail and services company based in London. It is present in 31 markets with around 17,800 employees, and sales that reach over €8 billion euros.
Grupo Rudelman is a Suzuki-focused car distribution business in Central America. The family-run group operates in Panama and Costa Rica.
The deal, valued at $284 million according to media reports, is Inchcape´s second acquisition in Latin America in less than 2 years.
The Arias team acting for Grupo Rudelman was led by partner Zygmunt Brett in El Salvador and also included partners Andrey Dorado and Carolina Flores in Costa Rica.
EY was a legal, fiscal and strategy advisor to Inchcape, participating during the stages of due diligence, structuring and closing of the transaction. Managing partners Hernán Pacheco and Rafael Sayagués led the team at EY which also included partners Alejandro Antillón and Eva García.
Greenberg Traurig advised the buyers under international law.
