Ayres Ribeiro Advogados strengthens tax area with Marcelo Corrêa (pictured) as new partner. For the past six years, he has been in charge of coordinating the tax consulting team at the Belo Horizonte office. He takes on the new role in order to increase the quality and specificity of the area’s services.

A tax lawyer with a degree in Law and Accounting from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais, Marcelo Corrêa has taken over the Tax Consulting team in Belo Horizonte, an area that is growing rapidly at the firm.

Corrêa has experience in coordinating and leading teams, calculating and reviewing calculations for direct and indirect taxes, preparing and analyzing ancillary tax returns, controlling procedures for accounting records and administrative offsetting of tax credits, calculating and paying taxes on import transactions, reviewing and helping to report information on international transactions, preparing and updating tax plans, studies and reports on tax policies. He also works on estate and succession planning for the firm’s clients.

For him, the mission now is to put all the expertise developed with the team of consultants he has helped to assemble over the last few years at the service of a delivery that meets the particularities of Ayres Ribeiro’s clients.
