Baker McKenzie advises Brookfield on Gas Natural Colombia acquisition

The Bogotá team at Baker McKenzie acted for Brookfield on its acquisition of the majority stake in the Colombian assets of Gas Natural Fenosa.

 

natural gasBrookfield Infrastructure Partners is a Toronto-headquartered asset management multinational which owns and operates utilities, transport, energy and communications infrastructure businesses in the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. 

Gas Natural Fenosa is a Spanish natural gas and electrical energy utilities company. 

This deal marks the company´s exit from Colombia, it initially sold a 59.1% stake in its local subsidiary to Brookfield in November 2017 for $560 million.

Brookfield is set to pay $382 million in this new deal, for the 41.9% stake in the Colombian company, according to market reports.
