Baker McKenzie appoints new managing partner for Mexico
Baker McKenzie has appointed Raymundo E. Enríquez as the firm’s new managing partner in Mexico, and who will replace Reynaldo Vizcarra, who has completed a two-year tenure in the post and will continue as a compliance partner in the firm.
“Raymundo (pictured) has ample experience in leadership in the firm,” Colin Murray, Baker McKenzie’s managing partner for North America, said. “He is very well respected among his colleagues and clients, and will be an exceptional managing partner for our five offices in Mexico as we continue to provide a leading service in the industry during this period of economic and political change in the country,” he added.
Baker McKenzie has more than 260 lawyers in Mexico, in its offices in Guadalajara, Ciudad Juárez, Mexico City, Monterrey and Tijuana, and which provide strategic consultancy to local and multinational companies to foster their growth and manage risk.
“Baker McKenzie has been in Mexico for more than 50 years and it continues to be the largest law firm in the country,” Enríquez said. “I feel honoured to serve as the next managing partner for Mexico and I hope to work with our partners in Mexico and the rest of North America to help our clients navigate a changing and complex market.”
Enríquez has served as a member of Baker McKenzie’s executive committee and as chairman of the Latin America Regional Council, where he also served as the Latin America chair of the Global Diversity and Regional Pro Bono committees. He is recognized as a leading lawyer for competition and antitrust and for business by Chambers Latin America.
In addition, he has sat on the board of directors of several leading companies in Mexico, and has held the position of professor at the Colegio de Abogados de México and the Universidad Iberoamericana, his alma mater. He received a masters in law from Harvard.
