Baker & McKenzie expands Latin America-focused disputes team in Miami

Baker & McKenzie’s Miami office has recruited partner Daniela Fonseca Puggina – a Brazil-born native who is an expert in cross border contractual disputes – from Shutts & Bowen.

Fonseca Puggina has represented global companies in cross border litigation in the US, as well as advising on matters involving jurisdictions in Latin America. She is fluent in both Portuguese and Spanish.

“Cross-border litigation continues to be a key area of need for many of our clients as they expand globally, and many of our clients are managing multijurisdictional disputes relating to their operations in Latin America,” said Mark D. Taylor, chair of Baker & McKenzie’s North American Litigation Practice.  “Daniela is one of Miami’s leading international disputes lawyers, and her experience representing clients in global venues will further strengthen our international disputes practice.”

Baker & McKenzie has 15 offices in Latin America spanning Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, and Venezuela. It also has a cooperation agreement with Brazilian firm Trench, Rossi e Watanabe.
