Baker McKenzie hires energy partner from Thompson & Knight
Baker McKenzie announced that Luis F. Gomar has joined the firm as a partner in Houston. He has over a decade of experience advising on cross-border transactions in the energy and finance sectors, particularly with a Latin American component.
Gomar received his J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law and his B.B.A. from the University of Texas at El Paso. He is licensed to practice in Texas.
At his previous law firm, Thompson & Knight, Gomar served as the lead partner for the Mexico City office.
“Luis is a well-known energy practitioner and his cross-border experience, especially in Mexico, will be a great benefit to our energy clients,” said Jose Moran, Baker McKenzie’s global energy, mining and infrastructure chair. “As the Mexico Energy Reform continues to create opportunities for investment, Luis’ knowledge of the market and energy industry will be an asset.”
“Baker McKenzie’s renowned global platform and network of offices in Latin America provides the perfect platform to grow the services I offer my clients,” Gomar said in the announcement. “I am excited to join the firm.”
