Baptista Luz Advogados has reinforced the Tech Transactions area and promoted new partners
Baptista Luz Advogados has reinforced the Tech Transactions area with the arrival of Vanessa Pirró (pictured top left), who has more than 17 years of experience in the market. Her practice covers Intellectual Property, Technology and Data Protection, acting in the advisory and contractual area, especially in the drafting, negotiation and review of contracts and documents involving technology, intellectual property rights and media. Pirró has worked for years with Civil and Administrative Litigation. She has extensive experience in privacy program implementation and consulting involving the impact of data protection legislation on the activities of national and multinational companies.
Vanessa has been in the Intellectual Property practice since 2004. Before joining B/Luz, she was Area Head at KLA – Koury Lopes Advogados and Senior Attorney for almost 11 years at Pinheiro Neto. The new partner is certified by IAPP – International Association of Privacy Professionals as Certified Information Privacy Manager.
A graduate in Law from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, Vanessa holds a Master’s Degree in Commercial Law from PUC-SP and Specialization in Privacy and Data Protection from Data Privacy Brasil.
The firm also promoted three new partners. Milene Fachini (pictured top right), Gabriela locks (pictured bottom left) and Juliana Calçada (pictured bottom right).
Milene Fachini has a degree in Law from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, and is co-responsible for the Fintechs area at Baptista Luz. She has 18 years of professional experience, 10 of which in-house, in players of various segments of the Financial Market, such as Banking, Investments, Payments and Technology.
During her practice in the corporate market, her active participation as a member of the financial segment Self-Regulatory Bodies stands out, through which she integrated the Central Bank Work Groups related to the PIX and Open Banking structuring projects and the updating of the regulatory environment of the Brazilian Payment System (SPB).
Gabriela Locks has a degree in Law from PUC/SP and in Administration from Universidade Federal de São Paulo. She has been working with Labor Law for over 10 years, seeking the alignment between legal obligations and the best/efficient people management practices.
Gabriela has experience not only in legal proceedings and administrative procedures, but also in the advisory area, in order to meet the most diverse issues of the day-to-day of the companies. With experience in structuring benefits, compensation, and contracts, she combines her legal and academic knowledge in administration with the search for solutions that can meet the day-to-day needs of companies.
The 3rd promotion is Juliana Calçada, Head of the commercial contracts area at Baptista Luz since July 2020. She started her career in the area of dispute resolution, where she worked for 10 years.
Realizing that most of the disputes she faced during this period originated from poorly structured deals, she turned to the preventive area, dedicating her academic studies to contractual theory. She earned a Master’s degree in Civil Law from PUC/SP, in 2016.
Her professional career has provided Juliana with a holistic view of business relationships. Today, with 18 years of professional practice, Juliana has extensive experience in structuring high value-added commercial contracts and strategic transactions in various market segments, including regulated markets
In less than 3 months of 2022, these promotions, combined with Vanessa’s arrival, are part of a recurrent movement of the bank known for innovating and investing heavily in technical development and career opportunities.
