Barros & Errázuriz names four new practice area directors

Chilean law firm Barros & Errázuriz has named four new practice heads, Alejandra Aránguiz, in the urbanism practice, Matías Montoya, in environmental, Daniela Peña in corporate and M&A, and Juan Cristóbal Schmidt, as head of the capital markets practice. 

Daniela Peña y Alejandra Aránguiz of Barros & ErrázurizAlejandra Aránguiz (pictured, right) has more than 20 years’ experience and is a graduate of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, with a master’s degree in public law from the same university. 

Matías Montoya has represented numerous companies in environmental disputes, as well as in the procurement of environmental permits. Before joining Barros & Errázuriz he was general counsel of the Environmental Evaluation Service, Chile’s public body in charge of evaluating the environmental impact of investment projects, and is a graduate of the Universidad del Desarrollo, with a master’s degree in environmental law from the Universidad de Chile.

Daniela Peña (pictured, left) has ample experience in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, financing and restructuring processes, and is a graduate of the Universidad de Chile, with a master’s degree from the University of Sydney.

Juan Cristóbal Schmidt has focussed his professional practice on capital markets, specialising in financing, bond issuances and investment funds. He is a graduate of the Universidad de Los Andes, with a master’s in law from Harvard University School of Law.
