Basham advises Mohawk on Vitromex acquisition

Mexican law firm Basham Ringe y Correa has advised Mohawk Industries on the acquisition of Manufacturas Vitromex.

This transaction was approved by the Federal Economic Competition Commission (COFECE) on 16 February. The advice involved accompaniment in the authorisation process before COFECE, working together with the company and demonstrating the potential positive effects on competition and free competition processes that the transaction entails.

Both companies are recognised manufacturers of ceramic and porcelain tile for commercial and residential use in Mexico. With this acquisition, Mohawk complements its portfolio and strengthens its presence in the Mexican market.
