Basham, Ringe y Correa hires Manuel Guerra Zamarro to bolster intellectual property practice



Mexican law firm Basham, Ringe y Correa has hired Manuel Guerra Zamarro, former director general of the National Institute of Copyright (INDAUTOR), as well as former president of the Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR), to bolster its intellectual property (IP) practice.

With more than 29 years of professional experience related to intellectual property matters such as copyright, entertainment law, trademark, patents, new technologies, copyright and IP litigation, Guerra Zamarro (pictured) has acted as representative of the Mexican government in several international assemblies on intellectual property organized by the United Nations and the World Intellectual Property Organisation.



He has also served as coordinator of the copyright committee of the Intellectual Property Mexican Bar Association (BMA), is a member of the Mexican Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AMPPI), and co-founder of the Mexican Copyright Academy (AMDA).

Guerra Zamarro graduated from Anáhuac University in Mexico City and completed his PhD in law at the Complutense University of Madrid.
