Batalla expands corporate practice group
Costa Rica law firm Batalla announced the addition of Oswald Bruce and Ignacio Monge from legacy Pacheco Coto (now EY).
Oswald Bruce has over 20 years of experience advising local and international clients on corporate, consumer protection and alternative dispute resolution matters. Bruce joins the firm as a partner and will lead the newly launched sports and entertainment practice group at Batalla, which is reportedly the first of its kind among Costa Rican and Central American law firms.
Ignacio Monge will be senior counsel and is set to expand the firm’s advisory and transactional capabilities. Monge has significant experience on domestic and cross-border acquisitions and divestitures, franchising, distribution and agency arrangements as well as complex estate planning and a varied array of commercial and company law matters.
“At Batalla we are committed to promote the success of our clients through the talent of our people. The addition of Oswald and Ignacio strengthens and increases the depth and breadth of our corporate capabilities and takes our practice into exciting new directions” said Batalla partner Rodrigo Zelaya in the announcement. “We are confident that they will contribute decisively, in terms of technical skill, experience and clarity, to materialise our clients’ vision and business goals,” he added.
