Berardo Advogados announces Bruno Becker as new partner
Berardo Advogados, a boutique focused on competition, compliance and regulatory law, has announced the arrival of a new partner: Bruno Bastos Becker (pictured).
With more than 18 years’ experience in Brazil and abroad in companies, law firms and competition authorities, Bruno’s practice will focus especially on the areas of competition, contracts and regulation.
Bruno returns to Brazil after almost three years in Chicago at Abbott Laboratories, one of the largest publicly traded companies in the US focused on Med-Tech.
At Abbott, both in Brazil and in the United States, Bruno worked on corporate matters, especially global and technology contracts. Bruno also has several years of experience in renowned law firms, with a special focus on Antitrust.
He has also worked for the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade) and the Bunderskartellamt, the German antitrust authority.
In addition to his professional experience, Bruno also has a solid academic background. He graduated in Law from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), holds a PhD in Commercial Law from the University of São Paulo (USP) and an LL.M. in Law from Yale University.
He was an undergraduate lecturer at FGV Direito SP, and was Director of the Brazilian Association of Law and Economics (ABDE) and the Institute of Law and Economics of Rio Grande do Sul (IDERS).
Bruno is also a reference in promoting diversity and inclusion. At Abbott, he led the PRIDE Network, the company’s LGBTQ.
