Berton Moreno + Ojam adds new partner
Buenos Aires-based law firm Berton Moreno + Ojam has recruited María Luisa Santa María as a partner.
“Demand from our clients has required us to strengthen certain industries in which María Luisa is an expert, such as consumer, retail and entertainment,” the firm said in a statement.
María Luisa (pictured) graduated as a lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA) in 2000, and she has a a master’s degree from the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in Chicago. She is fluent in English.
María Luisa provides advice to national and foreign clients for the protection of their industrial property rights, including the development and management of their trademark portfolios and their representation in opposition proceedings and prior extrajudicial mediation, constitution of liens and negotiation of licences and assignment agreements.
Before devoting herself entirely to industrial property, she practiced in other areas of commercial law, as well as in administrative law, both in the private and public sectors.
Having studied and worked abroad, she has also cultivated a cosmopolitan approach, and she especially enjoys the possibility of interacting with colleagues from other countries, and knowing the particularities of their markets, the law firm said.
