Bichara strengthens its tax and infrastructure teams
Bichara Advogados has announced the hiring of Fernando Raposo (pictured center) as a new partner in the tax area. In addition, to strengthen the energy and estate and succession planning practices, the firm also announces the arrival of Manuela Dana (pictured left) and Priscila Carmona Maya (pictured right).
Fernando Raposo holds a master’s degree in Tax Law from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) and has extensive knowledge of telecommunications and strategic litigation. He was Legal Director in the Tax and Strategic Civil areas at Oi, where he worked for eleven years. He participated in the company’s debt restructurings, in the main M&A operations in the telecommunications sector in recent years and in leading cases in Tax Law, as well as in the Regulatory, Infrastructure and Judicial Recovery areas. She also led the settlement negotiations between the Federal Attorney General’s Office (AGU) and the Oi Group, which exceeded the R$20 billion mark.
Manuela Dana holds a master’s degree in Electricity and Natural Gas from the Energy and Environment Institute of the University of São Paulo (USP) and specializes in Regulatory and Transactional Law. With more than ten years’ experience, she has worked on structuring energy self-production and distributed generation projects, on the construction of a R$19 billion hydroelectric plant and was head of the electricity area at a boutique law firm, as well as being responsible for the segment at an international law firm.
Priscila Carmona Maya holds a master’s degree in Business Law from the Universidad de Alcalá (Madrid, Spain) and an LL.M. in Financial and Capital Markets from Insper. With almost twenty years’ experience in the Tax area, she has worked at PwC and EY, in Brazil and in the United States, at the Brazilian Tax Desk. Priscila was a member of the Península team, where she was Legal Director, and worked as head of Finance, Tax and Corporate Law at an investment manager. She has also provided legal advice related to onshore and offshore Succession and Estate Planning for Family offices, as well as on issues related to current tax changes.
