BLP acts for Vinci Airports on Costa Rica expansion

Central American law firm BLP advised Vinci Airports on the acquisition of co-control stakes in two airports in Costa Rica. 

airportVinci Airports is a subsidiary of French concessions conglomerate Vinci, headquartered outside Paris. Through this deal, the company will have co´-control stakes in Costa Rica’s two major airports: 48.75% stake in Juan Santamaria International Airport in San José and a 45% stake in Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport in Liberia, a key tourist hub in the country. Both airports severs almost 6 million passengers in 2017. 

The transaction, which financial details were not disclosed, is part of a global deal which saw Vinci Airports acquire the airport portfolio held by Airports Worldwide. Besides the two in Costa Rica, the operation included airports in United States, UK and Sweden. 

Vinci Airport now owns and operates 45 airports in 11 countries, including Brazil, Chile and the Dominican Republic
