ANS was founded in 2004 and has remained focused on high-end transactions in real estate, particularly large hotel and commercial projects. In the announcement, BLP added that through the years both law firms have frequently worked together on behalf of mutual clients.

Fernando Vargas Cullell, founder of ANS, will join the Board of Directors of BLP. He practiced for two decades at Costa Rican law firm Odio & Raven (now Zurcher, Odio & Raven) specializing in corporate and financial law  before launching ANS in 2004.

The other members of ANS, Andrés Waisleder, Catalina Soto and Adriana Giralt, join BLP as special counsel, senior associate and associate, respectively.

Founded in 2003, BLP is now home to 30 partners and 147 lawyers in total across nine offices in 5 countries in Central America. The firm also opened a representative office in Madrid in 2017.
