BLP bulks up partnership in Nicaragua

BLP, the Central American law firm, announced that Claudia Prado has been promoted to partner in Nicaragua.

Prado joined BLP as special counsel in the summer of 2017 from a legal director role at Grupo Calsa. Her legal career spans over 20 years, starting as legal advisor in organisations in the energy sector including the Instituto Nicaragüense de Energía (INE) and Unión Fenosa. Prado also worked as corporate legal advisor to Nicaraguan diversified conglomerate Pellas Group, as well as legal manager at financial company BAC│CREDOMATIC. Her experience includes handling complex deals in the areas of finance, energy, infrastructure, and general business law.

With this promotion, BLP is now home to 30 partners across all its offices, including 2 in Managua. Prado is also the third female lawyer to be promoted to partner in less than 3 months. In total, 30% of the partners at BLP are women and so are 45% of all the attorneys at the firm.
