BLP opens office in Guatemala

Central American law firm BLP announced the opening of an office in Guatemala adding a trio of partners from a local law firm. 

Partners María Inés Arenales, Luis F. Ruiz and Rodolfo Salazar joined BLP from Arenales & Skinner Klee, a Guatemala law firm which is also part of LatamLex, a Central American legal outfit.

BLP, which hails from Costa Rica, now spans all five Central American countries and is home to 120 lawyers in 9 offices. The Guatemala office will have a team of 13 lawyers.

“BLP offers us a modern platform which will allow us to render more and better service to our clients.” indicated Luis F. Ruiz, who specializes in corporate/M&A, and IP.

Ronald Lachner, a partner based in Costa Rica who has led the regionalisation efforts, commented “The Guatemalan market has been one of the most important and complex in the area.
