Bofill Mir boosts Public Law team and launches Criminal Law practice
Chilean Bofill Mir has taken a step in its strategic growth by adding two new partners, Tomás Blake (pictured left) and Daniel Martorell (pictured right), expanding the firm’s expertise in areas of high legal sensitivity and growing complexity. With these appointments, Bofill Mir’s team rises to a total of 12 partners.
Tomás Blake joins the Public and Regulatory Law team as partner, working alongside existing partner Andrea Abascal. This reinforced leadership structure is designed to drive a practice central to the country’s evolving regulatory agenda, positioning Bofill Mir to address increasingly complex legal challenges.
With Daniel Martorell joining as a partner, the firm is opening its criminal law practice, which forms a fundamental part of its strategic framework from day one. Martorell’s professional journey has involved managing complex cases in close collaboration with the firm’s Mining, Corporate, and Regulatory departments, enhancing the firm’s multidisciplinary approach.
Martorell is a lawyer, doctor of law, and holds a Master’s in criminal law and criminal sciences from the Universities of Barcelona and Pompeu Fabra, as well as a Master’s in Law with a specialization in criminal law from the Universidad de Chile. He has over 15 years of experience in criminal litigation and counseling, with a strong track record in complex defenses and fraud cases in the insurance sector.
Meanwhile, Tomás Blake as a partner in the Public and Regulatory Law team, he offers more than ten years of experience advising companies, industry associations, and public agencies on Administrative Law.
His expertise includes litigation, public procurement, concession services, and government relations. Blake is a lawyer from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez and holds an LL.M. in Public Law from University College London (UCL).
Tomás Blake also maintains an active academic role, teaching at various universities and participating in forums for discussion and continuing education in his area of expertise.
