Bofill Mir expands Dispute Resolution team with two new partners

Chile-based Bofill Mir Abogados announced the addition of Liat Tapia (pictured right) and Felipe de Marinis (pictured left) as partners leading the Dispute Resolution practice. Their arrival brings the firm to 14 partners—nearly one-third women—continuing its steady growth and strengthening a key area with deep technical expertise and international experience.

Both are graduates of the University of Chile School of Law, hold postgraduate degrees from New York, and have international professional experience, in addition to developing their careers in leading local firms. They are also listed among the young arbitrators of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce, reflecting their active participation in the arbitration community. Their inclusion reinforces Bofill Mir Abogados’ interdisciplinary character and proven international experience.

Liat Tapia was awarded both the Becas Chile and Fulbright scholarships for academic and professional merit. She is admitted to practice law in both Chile and the State of New York, USA. Tapia is recognized in Arbitration as “Up and Coming” by Chambers and Partners, “Rising Star” by Legal 500, and “Lacca Approved” by LACCA. She was also named a “Young Talent Under 35” by Diario Financiero in 2023.

Felipe de Marinis has a solid track record in dispute resolution, excelling in both national and international arbitration—commercial and investment—as well as in a range of litigation matters (civil, commercial, administrative, consumer protection. His experience includes working as an international associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in New York.

The arrival of these new partners follows the appointments made in September, when Tomás Blake joined as Partner of Public and Regulatory Law, and Daniel Martorell as Partner of Criminal Law, who is leading the launch of this new practice area.
