Brazil’s Lefosse elects new partners and counsel
Lefosse Advogados has announced the election of three partners and a counsel, boosting its capital markets and competition and regulation practices.
The new partners are Juliana Daniel (pictured), in the competition and compliance practice; Bruno Massis, in capital markets, and Jana Araújo, in capital markets and M&A, while Luciana Moutinho has been promoted to counsel, and who is also part of the firm’s (capital markets practice.
“These promotions reflect our commitment to recognise and award talent within our firm,” managing partner Carlos Mello said. “Our new partners and counsel are outstanding lawyers, client driven, with a strong bond to our culture and values.”

The promotions bring the partner count in the firm to 38.
Juliana Daniel has extensive experience in domestic and international administrative and court proceedings. Her practice is focused on anticompetitive conduct investigations with special emphasis on cartels and collusive practices. She received her bachelor’s in law degree by the Law School of Universidade de São Paulo (USP), holds a Master Proféssionel 2 at Sciences-Po by the Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris, France, and a master’s degree in civil Ppocedure from Universidade de São Paulo (USP).
She also attended the competition program at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy, and coordinates and teaches at the Escola Superior da Advocacia.
Bruno Massis is well versed in capital markets transactions, including equity and debt, advising issuers and underwriters on public offerings and private placements of securities. He obtained his bachelor’s in law degree from Universidade Paulista (UNIP) and an LLM degree in financial and capital markets law from the Instituto de Ensino e Pesquisa (Insper). Previously, he worked as a foreign associate in the New York office of Linklaters.
Jana Araujo has represented clients in several domestic and cross border debt and equity public offerings and private placements. She has solid experience in advising national and foreign clients on matters in connection with Brazilian corporate law, securities regulations, corporate governance and foreign capital regulations. She holds a bachelor’s in law degree from Universidade de São Paulo and an LL.M degree from Columbia University. Jana worked as a foreign associate in the New York office of White & Case.
Luciana Moutinho has worked on significant transactions in the Brazilian capital markets in recent years and developed solid relationships with issuers, coordinators and regulatory authorities. She obtained her bachelor’s in law degree from Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado, a postgraduate degree in economics from the Fundação Getulio Vargas and an LLM degree from Columbia University.
Luciana has worked as a foreign associate in the New York office of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett.
