Brazilian firms advise on the Macquarie’ acquisition of IHS towers
Machado Meyer advised Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) on the acquisition from IHS Mauritius BR Limited (part of IHS Holding Limited) of its South American tower operations, including IHS Brazil and IHS Colombia, covering approximately 8,860 telecommunications sites. Mello Torres Advogados acted as Brazilian counsel to IHS and its selling entities.
The transaction, valued at USD 952 million, strengthens critical digital infrastructure in Brazil and Colombia and supports the long term expansion of 5G networks across the region. The firm’s work included full legal due diligence of the target companies, review and negotiation of the transaction documents, and analysis of relevant tax matters.
