Bruchou and MHR in CEPU’s acquisition of solar park

Bruchou & Funes de Rioja and MHR Abogados have advised Central Puerto (CEPU) and Equinor Wind Power and Scatec Solar, respectively, in the acquisition of Cordillera Solar VIII and Scatec Equinor Solutions Argentina, owner and operator, respectively, of the Guañizuil IIA Solar Park, located in the Province of San Juan, with a nominal capacity of approximately 117Mwdc.

The purchase and sale of 100% of the share capital and voting rights of Cordillera Solar VIII and Scatec Equinor Solutions Argentina by Proener, a subsidiary of CEPU, was executed and closed on 18 October 2023.

With the acquisition of its first solar farm, CEPU achieves another milestone in the diversification of its energy matrix as part of its strategy of expansion and consolidation in the renewable energy market.

CEPU, a public company listed on Bolsas y Mercados Argentinos (BYMA) and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), is one of Argentina’s leading power generators.

Equinor Wind Power, a Norwegian public company listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), is a multinational energy company with a presence in more than 30 countries. Scatec Solar, a Norwegian public company listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange (OSE), is a multinational renewable energy generation company with 3,142Mw of installed capacity.

Jose Manuel Pazos, María Justina Richards and Juan Mateo Rollan acted as in-house counsels to CEPU, while Kristian Oppebøen and James Avison provided in-house counsel to Equinor Wind Power and Scatec Solar, respectively.
