Bruchou represents Cementos Avellaneda in solar energy project
Bruchou & Funes de Rioja has represented Cementos Avellaneda in the development of the photovoltaic solar park “Parque Solar La Calera”.
This renewable energy project is located 72 km from the capital of the Province of San Luis, Argentina and has an installed capacity of 22 MW. The park will supply electricity to Cementos Avellaneda’s industrial plant and, thanks to its potential, will prevent the annual emission of 22,600 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere. The project involved an investment of USD $25 million.
The project was also developed in line with Cementos Avellaneda’s sustainability objectives and its decarbonisation plan, as it will supply 55% of its factory’s electricity demand with renewable energy generated on its own premises. In this way, the company is a pioneer in Argentina in terms of sustainability projects and the use of renewable electricity generated on a large scale, and positions it as the first cement company in Argentina to achieve self-generation from an energy supply contract with a third party.
Cementos Avellaneda is an Argentinean company dedicated to the manufacture and commercialisation of construction materials for more than 100 years.
