BU on $1bn Ecopetrol loan

Brigard Urrutia has advised Ecopetrol on the closing of an external credit operation with international banks for an amount of USD $1 billion.

This operation is part of an important strategy of the company to reinforce its financial soundness and continue contributing to the economic and social development of the country. It also reflects the backing and support of the international financial sector in the strategy of one of Colombia’s main public companies.

The advice involved support on Colombian regulatory matters, as well as the preparation, negotiation and closing of the relevant loan documentation required for the financing under Colombian law.

BU’s team was led by managing partner Carlos Fradique-Méndez (pictured right), with support from partner María Fernanda Diago (pictured left), associates Viviana Araujo and Maria Alejandra Cadena Andrade, and intern Diego Perea Baptiste.
