Carey acts as counsel on Chile’s largest ever IPO
Chilean law firm Carey acted as local counsel to JP Morgan Securities and BofA Securities, as international agents, for the placement of shares for approximately $1 billion for the IPO of Cencosud Shopping Centers, the largest IPO in Santiago Stock Exchange’s history.
Cencosud Shopping Centers operates retail complexes in Chile, Colombia and Peru.
Carey’s team was led by partners Diego Peralta (pictured), who is co-head of the firm’s banking and finance group, and also included partners Cristián Eyzaguirre and Francisco Guzmán, and associates Sergio Mesías, Daniela Soto, Javiera Avilés, Yoel Magendzo and Kriss Andia.
Shearman & Sterling acted as international counsel to JP Morgan Securities and BofA Securities, while Morales & Besa acted as local counsel to Cencosud Shopping and Milbank acted as international counsel.
