Carey advised lenders on power plant refinancing

Carey advised Itaú CorpBanca and DNB Group on a non-revolving credit line to Chungungo, a special purpose vehicle entity indirectly owned by SunEdison.

Chungungo is a developer of the Quilapilún solar power plant, currently under construction. The credit line will be used to clear payment defaults to sub-contractors of the EPC contractor (also a related entity to SunEdison) and the subsequent indirect sale of Chungungo.

Partner Felipe Moro led the Carey team acting for the lenders.

SunEdison instructed Claro & Cia in the corporate restructuring and sale.
