Carey advises Grupo Valmar in the purchase and sale with Clairvest
Carey has advised Inversiones Valmar Limitada (Grupo Valmar) in the negotiation for the purchase and sale of the totality of the participation that Grupo Clairvest held in Grupo Marina del Sol, which operates gaming casinos in the cities of Talcahuano, Chillán, Calama and Osorno.
The transaction took place on November 26, and involved the jurisdictions of Chile and Canada. Rojas & Cía. acted as advisor to the owners of Valmar, while Clyde & Co and Torys acted as advisors to Clairvest, locally and internationally, respectively.
This transaction not only allowed Grupo Valmar to acquire a strategic participation in the entertainment and gaming sector, but also facilitated the resolution of several lawsuits and controversies that existed between the parties, thus providing legal certainty and commercial stability to Grupo Valmar.
