Carey advises Kredito on $6m investment round

Carey has advised Kredito, a Chilean Fintech focused on providing microloans to people who cannot access the traditional banking system, in the structuring and negotiation of a $6 million investment round.

This transaction was carried out on 28 November through the issuance of shares, thanks to the participation of several investors, including a major Chilean business holding company, a local family office, and an investment fund supported by CORFO.

Other firms advising on the transaction were Alcaíno Abogados as advisor to Empresas Penta and Penta Financiero; and Portaluppi Guzmán & Bezanilla as advisor to Amarena.

Pedro Morales Cisternas acted as in-house counsel for Penta Financiero, while Paz Rojas has acted as in-house counsel for Empresas Penta.

Alcaíno Abogados’ team consisted of partner Daniel Cox, director Benjamín Alcaíno and associate Ignacio Ruiz.

Portaluppi Guzmán & Benzanill’s team included partner Eugenio Guzmán Gatica, and associate Ignacio Paci Navarro.

Carey’s team was led by partner Francisco Guzmán (pictured), with support from associates Carlos Alcalde, Carolina Miller, Sofía Beckdorf and María Ignacia Urzúa.
