Carey advises Masisa on corporate reorganization
Carey acted for Masisa, the Chilean woods product manufacturer, on the strategyc reorganization of different companies of its group.
Masisa is one of the largest wood products manufacturers in the world. The company is headquartered in Chile and has operations in Argentina, Peru, Brazil, Venezuela, Mexico, the US and its home country.
This transaction included a capital increase of more than $580 million and the restructuring of Inversiones Internacionales Terranova, its Venezuelan subsidiary. It also included the payment of the balance of an intercompany debt to Masisa for around $230 million, and the distribution of a dividend in the same amount to its shareholders.
