Carey counsels Cementos Melón on Banco de Chile loan

Chilean law firm Carey has counselled local company Cementos Melón on the negotiation of a $35 million loan granted by Banco de Chile to finance investment projects in Punta Arenas.



Cementos MelónMelón plans to build a cement mill in Punta Arenas with an annual production capacity of 500,000 tons that will require total investment of $45 million, and for which it provided an environmental impact report last December. The plant is slated to enter operations in early 2020.

Carey’s team advising the company comprised partner Jorge Ugarte and associates Alejandra Daroch and Pilar Diez.
