Carey counsels Sonnedix on Collahuasi PPA
Carey has counselled Sonnedix – Atacama Solar on the bidding process and subsequent negotiation of a power purchase agreement (PPA) for the energy supply facilities of the Faena Cordillera mine, owned by Compañia Minera Doña Inés de Collahuasi.
Sonnedix also negotiated a PPA with AES Gener for the off-solar supply of Collahuasi, a mining company dedicated to the extraction and production of copper concentrate and molybdenum concentrate.
Carey described the negotiation as “a long process in which its main complexity was the involvement of long-term agreeents and, although related, executed with different parties, which made the coordination of the terms and conditions of each one very challenging”.
