Carey counsels WeBoost on investment in Wited
Carey has counselled venture capital fund, WeBoost, on an equity investment in Wited, formerly known as Portal Educativo, a company that reinforces and complements elementary and middle school education through a platform with educational content and online classes.
The $1 million equity round was signed on 26 September, through which the company intends to expand into Mexico, where it has 40% of its users.
The advice involved reconciling the various preferences and conditions of the investors in terms of using different convertible instruments (SAFEs and KISS), all in the jurisdictions of Chile and the United States (Delaware).
FS Abogados and Davalos Michel acted as counsel to Portal Educativo in Chile and the United States, respectively. Scantax acted as financial advisor.
WeBoost expects to make a second investment in another six months, as the company continues to grow.
