Carey represents CMPC Ventures in investment in Strong By Form
Carey has locally represented CMPC Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of CMPC, in its investment in Chilean start-up Strong By Form.
The transaction, closed on 30 November, had a value of approximately USD 5.6 million (EU5.2 million) and involved the jurisdictions of Chile and Spain, which involved the internationalisation of the company with the participation of local and foreign investors.
Other participating firms were Cuatrecasas as advisor to CMPC in Spain, as well as Aninat Abogados and Metricson as advisors to Strong by Form locally and in Spain, respectively.
Strong By Form focuses on the development of wood-based biocomposites for lightweight and high-performance applications through its innovative Woodflow technology, offering a viable and environmentally friendly alternative to conventional structural materials such as concrete and steel.
Benjamín Concha acted as in-house consultant for CMPC.
Cuatrecasas’ Madrid team was represented by partner Diana Rivera and associate Amador Rodríguez Martín de la Fuente.
Aninat Abogados’ team consisted of partner María Eugenia Sabbagh and associate Consuelo Tarud.
Metricson’s team included managing partner Luis Gosálbez, and associates Álvaro Ferra and Guillermo Urbez.
Carey’s team was led by partner Francisco Guzmán (pictured), with support from associates Sebastián Melero, Carlos Alcalde and Crescente Bernales.
