Carey represents IFC in loan to De Lage Landen
Carey has represented the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Chile in a loan granted to De Lage Landen Chile, with the guarantee of Cooperative Rabobank.
The loan is intended to finance leasing and financing operations for small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in the agricultural and food business for the purchase of sustainable equipment.
This financing is part of an IFC project to provide loans to subsidiaries in Chile, Brazil, Mexico and Poland of De Lage Landen International to finance leasing and financing operations to small and medium-sized enterprises for the purchase of sustainable equipment, part of which must comply with the IFC’s Climate Smart Agriculture guidelines.
The deal closed on 7 November, and involved the jurisdictions of England, the Netherlands and Chile. Hogan Lovells also acted as advisor to the IFC on an international basis.
Becher Atassi acted as in-house counsel to the IFC.
Carey’s team was led by partner Fernando Noriega (pictured), with support from associates Diego Lasagna and Felipe Reyes.
