Carey represents Viatris in sale of portfolio to Aspen Pharmacare
Carey has locally represented Viatris in the sale of marketing and intellectual property rights to a portfolio of well-known branded products in Latin America, such as Lipitor, Viagra, Lyrica, Zoloft, Norvasc and Celebrex, to South African pharmaceutical company Aspen Pharmacare for USD $280 million.
The transaction closed on 1 November and involved the jurisdictions of Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Peru and Uruguay. Cravath Swaine & Moore and Hogan Lovells also acted as advisors to Viatris.
Aspen Pharmacare valued the transaction at US$280 million. The consideration for the transaction was a US$150 million payment and an extension of supply to Viatris.
