Carey advised Chilectra Americas, the electrity provider, on the Chilean aspects of the second stage of its reorganization process.
Chilectra Américas was created in February 2016 as part of Enel’s corporate reorganization. This operation is part of a major reorganization of the Latin American assets of Enel Group.
Under the second stage of the reorganization, Chilectra Américas and Endesa Américas will merge into Enersis Américas, company that will control all participations of the subsidiaries of the Enel Group in the electricity power generation and distribution business in Latin America, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Peru.

Enersis instructed Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría in Chile and Chadbourne & Parke in the United States.
