Carey steers SMBC on Edgeconnex financing
Carey has advised Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation on financing granted to Edgeconnex Chile for a data centre creation
Carey advised Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) on financing granted to Edgeconnex Chile, for the construction and set up of a data centre located in the Metropolitan Region, to be operated by Microsoft and Oracle.
It is one of the first financings of a data centre in Chile, which entailed a challenge on its structuring and made necessary a close-work relationship with the technical areas involved in developing the project.
Carey team was led by partners Felipe Moro (pictured left) and Juan Pablo Stitchkin (pictured right), and involved associates Carlo Benussi, Daniela Soto, Diego Lasagna, Elías Mohor, Fernanda Valdés, Fernando Noriega, Francisca Hernández, Francisco León, Javiera Muñoz, Loreto Ribera, Manuel José Barros, María José Martínez, Nadia Jara, Rafael Mackay, Ricardo Edwards, and Tamara Feliú.
Baraona Fischer acted as legal counsel to Edgeconnex Chile with a team formed by partners Alfonso Ugarte and Raúl Marshall, and associates Fernanda Anguita, Jeanne Marie Miquel, María Jesús Hernández, and Andrés Maldini.
