Cariola advises on Cervecerías Unidas debt issuance
Chile’s Cariola Díez Pérez-Cotapos has advised Compañía Cervecerías Unidas, one of Chile’s largest beer, soft drink, juice, mineral water and wine producers, in connection with the issuance and placement of the unsecured 7-year Serie L and 10-year Serie M notes for a total amount of $176 million on the Chilean capital markets.
Serie L notes were issued under a 10-year note program and Serie M notes were issued under 30-year note program both duly registered with the Chilean Financial Market Commission in June 2018.
The proceeds of the notes issuance will be used to refinance existing short-term financial indebtedness of the issuer and the investment plan of the Issuer and/or its affiliates, the law firm said.
The notes were structured by Banco de Chile and Scotiabank, and placed by Banchile Corredores de Bolsa and Scotia Corredora de Bolsa.

The in-house legal counsels to the issuer were Felipe Benavides and Paola Camhi.
