Cariola assists Cervecerías Unidas in the registration, issuance and placement of $80m notes

Cariola Díez Pérez-Cotapos has represented Compañía Cervecerías Unidas in the registration of unsecured notes for the amount of approximately US$80 million

Cariola Díez Pérez-Cotapos has assisted Compañía Cervecerías Unidas, as issuer, in connection with the registration of the unsecured Series O and Series P notes, and the issuance and placement of the 10-year Series P notes for a total amount of UF 2,000,000 (approx. US$ 80,000,000) in the Chilean capital market.

In this transaction, closed on 6 April, the notes were structured by Banco de Chile and Scotiabank Chile.

Compañía Cervecerías Unidas, one of Chile’s largest producers of soft drinks, juices, mineral water, wines and beverages, will use the proceeds of the notes to refinance the issuer’s existing short-term financial debt and for general corporate purposes.

Felipe Benavides and Paola Camhi acted as in-house counsels to the issuer.
