Cariola assists Enel Chile in agreement with Citibank

Cariola Díez Pérez-Cotapos has assisted Enel Chile in connection with the SGD Linked ECA Facility Agreement, entered into between Citibank (London Branch), as original lender, mandated lead arranger, global coordinator and agent, Enel Chile, as borrower, and Enel as guarantor.

The financing, completed on 28 May for USD $286,000,000, was also secured by a personal guarantee provided by Enel and Finnvera, the Finnish Export Credit Agency.

Other firms involved were Gianni & Origoni, as counsel to the borrowers in Italy; Bryan Cave Leighton, as English counsel to the borrower; Linklaters as counsel to the lenders in the UK and Italy; Hannes Snellman, as Finnish lender’s counsel; and Carey as local counsel to the lender.

Gianni & Origoni’s team was represented by partner Giuseppe De Simone and counsel Simone D’Avolio.

Linklaters’ team included partners Tessa Lee and Linda Taylor, senior associate Lucia Ciocarlan and associate Matteo Bencic.

Hannes Snellman’s team consisted of partner Henrik Mattson and managing associate Janne Vereranta.

Carey’s team was led by partner Fernando Noriega and associates José Luis Enberg and Felipe Reyes.
