Cariola Díez acts for Turner International in $1.2bn acquisition of Canal del Fútbol
Chilean law firm Cariola Díez Pérez-Cotapos represented Turner International Latin America in its $1.2 billion acquisition of Canal del Fútbol (CDF) from the Chilean Football Association (ANFP) and Gestión de Televisión Limitada (GTV).
As a result of the transaction, Turner Broadcasting System, the parent company of Turner International Latin America, acquires the transmission rights of the Chilean football league for the next 15 years, and for which the 32 teams comprising the league will each receive a payment of $3.1 million.
Turner International Latin America manages a portfolio of pay-TV networks across Latin America, and which includes CNN International, Boomerang, TCM, Warner Channel, Cartoon Network and CNN Chile, among others.
The transaction has been approved by Chile’s National Competition Agency (FNE).
Cariola Díez Pérez-Cotapos lawyers engaged for Turner International Latin America were corporate and M&A partner Francisco J.
