Cariola steers Chile’s Ferrocarriles del Estado $145m notes issuance
Chilean law firm Cariola Díez Pérez-Cotapos has advised the country’s state-owned railway company, Empresa de los Ferrocarriles del Estado, with the registration and issuance of a guaranteed long-term notes program for an approximate amount of $145 million on the Chilean capital markets.
The notes were guaranteed by the Republic of Chile and the proceeds of the notes will be used to finance investment projects of the issuer according to its 2017-2019 investment plan.
The notes program was structured by Banco de Chile and placed by Banchile Corredores de Bolsa, and was the first public offering and placement of notes in the local market made during the pandemic.
Cariola team’s team was led by partner Rodrigo Sepúlveda, with associate Cristóbal Morales and junior associate Vicente Sáenz de Santa María.
The in-house legal counsels of the issuer are Ricardo Oporto and Roberto La Rosa.
