Cariola strengthens technology, privacy and media practice with new partner
Cariola Díez Pérez-Cotapos has announced the appointment of Carolina Flisfisch Camhi (pictured) as a new partner in the firm’s technology, privacy and media practice, effective 3 June.
Carolina has a law degree from the Universidad de Chile and a Master in Business Law from the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. She has extensive experience in financial sector regulation and means of payment, contracting of technological services, administration of risk management and compliance models, and in general in contract negotiation and corporate matters.
She worked at the firm between 2007 and 2014, in the corporate transactional group, advising clients on major M&A transactions and corporate financings. After a decade, Carolina Flisfisch rejoins the firm as a partner, to further strengthen the technology, privacy and media practice due to her in-house expertise in this practice area.
Between 2015 and 2024, Carolina Flisfisch led the legal department of Redbanc, a technology company in the financial sector, supervised by the Financial Market Commission, which offers services related to means of payment. For the past two years, she has also held the position of Director of Risk and Legal Affairs at the same company, leading the organisation’s risk management and compliance, along with legal issues.
“From my experience as an in-house lawyer, I want to enhance the capabilities of the team, bringing the ‘client’ perspective. I believe it is key to generate close relationships with our clients, understanding their needs and strategic objectives, in connection to offer them innovative legal solutions that allow them to adapt to a constantly evolving legal environment, especially in technological matters. The publication of the Fintec Law, the Cybersecurity Framework Law, the upcoming approval of the Data Protection Law and the artificial intelligence bill will bring important challenges for companies, which will require expert legal advice to adapt their business and processes to these new regulations,” commented the new partner.
With this reincorporation, the number of partners of the firm increases to 27.
